Here is an example of a very goodquality antique Welsh Victorian pitch pine railway station bench, circa 1880,in good original condition. Constructedof solid pitch pine, the bench features a fixed horizontal bar back that issupported by sturdy cast iron upright arms.Likewise, the seat is constructed of solid pitch pine and features aconcave shape for comfortable seating.The ends of the seat and bar back are chamfered. The bench is supported by two solid cast ironcross-stretchers that connect to the bar backs.This style of bench would have been constructed for use on the Britishrailway system, on station platforms during the late Victorian period. The bench boasts an excellent colour andpatination. It is completely original andis very heavy and sturdy.

This item would look superb in a varietyof rooms from the hall way or kitchen. This item would certainly graceany home and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don\'t miss out on your chance to own alovely piece of furniture.

Thisitem is in good and completely original condition. Importantly, there are no breaks to the caseiron legs or supporting arms. Nominalold use marks and shakes to the seat and leading edges, including the pine barback, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There has been and old repair to the pineseat above the left leg (when facing the bench – see photos), however, the seatis completely solid. The bench boasts its original polish; which is why the colour andpatination is excellent. This patinationcannot be recreated through re-polishing.The seatand legs are extremely sturdy, well constructed, and solid in joint, ready foruse.
