Antique Wm H Wilgus Silver Eyeglasses in Parker Pat 1860 Case Civil War Era:
$119.99

This sale is foran antiquesterling or coinsilver pair of eyeglasses with collapsible ear pieces with loops at the ends. The left ear pieceis marked with the makers name, \"Wm. H.Wilgus\". The right ear piece is marked \"10\". I\'m not sure what the 10 represents. The glasses are not marked sterling and were not tested. There are afew places were the tarnish is not dark that shows the silver color. The glasses measure approximately 4.3\" across the hinges.

This is a finely made pair of glasses that have outlasted the test of time. Both lenses are in excellent condition and are like magnifiers, allowing me to see very clearly up close. They cause my distance vision to become slightly blurry. The ear pieces are nice and snug when opening and closing. Lenses are secure and have no wiggle. The lenses are in pretty good shape and arenot chipped up and scratched.

The case is made of tin and has a brown fabric glued in place. The clothis an old looking material that is kind of fuzzy. It shows some wear. I am not 100 percent sure ifthe fabricis original or not. It looks as if it could be 155 years old. The case\'s hinge and snap both work perfectly. The tin case is marked \"Pat Jan. 24, 1860\" and \"C. Parker\". It has some very minor dings, but looks rather good for its age.
