ITEM: 　

For sale is a good antique electric wooden boxed door bell. Probably for domestic use to front door or butler or for example in an office, railway, or alarm, and is portable. Complete with brass bell, hammer and quite large hand made wooden housing that appears to be mahogany. it has the electric coils in the top level with the wires emerging to the lower box for a battery or to connectors on the side for mains. A nice example with extra brass fittings or a hook and original handle to the top. The hammer is sprung and with a little restoration-ie testing and making sure electrics are safe I am sure it would work well. Top box is held on with two original hooks and the back hinged cover by a screw. Probably dating to around 1910-20s approximately. 　

CONDITION: 　

A few marks and a little wear to the wooden box as would be expected. There is a small section on the back cover/door that is not there, possibly taken away for some reason? The screw on the back may not be original. Brass bell would polish up well if desired.
