This is a very iron tool. I\'m not sure if it\'s a wood adz, wide chopping horizontal ax to mount on a long handle and use to shape and flatten the side of a log to build a log cabin. It might also be an old grub hoe head. It\'s an old tool for digging holes in hard soil. It\'s cast or forged in heavy metal with a sturdy square head to fasten securely onto the handle, and a long wide blade that came to a sharp edge for cutting into the soil or wood. This one is very old and rusted, with notches out of the blade edge.This is one very heavy chunk of metal and will weigh four and a half pounds for shipping. We keep the shipping costs as low and possible. There\'s no profit built into the shipping costs.Size: the hole for the handle is 1 3/4\" by 1\" the Shaft holding part is 3\" deep. The blade extends 6 3/8\" long and widens from 2\" wide at the base to5 1/2\" wide at the blade edge.
Condition: It\'s very old and rusty and somewhat pitted. Blade edge is notched and worn, rusty.
