This is a rare original antique wood engraving print from the Harper\'s Weekly January 7, 1871 Issue.
- Caption reads: \"Home Treasures\" - by M. Merle
- Subject is Mother with Children, Victorian Times, Family size (excluding captions and text) is 8.75\" wide x 11.25\" tall.
This is not a reproduction - it is 100% authentic and was removed from a bound annual volume of Harper\'s Weekly and is therefore very well preserved in very good condition. There are some small smudges / discoloration near the top of the print, and there is wear and some small tears along the edges, which should not be visible when framed or matted. There is age coloring fairly consistent throughout the print, as can be expected with a 140+ year old sheet of paper. The vertical lines / sections you see in the photo are from the way the print was produced with engraved wood blocks.
There is text printed on the back side of the page.
