In the the highly collectible Minton GOWER pattern. Hard to find serving piece. Two parts - bowl and lid. Measures 9 3/4\"wide including the handles. Bowl opening is about 8\" across. About 4 1/2\" tall to the top of the lid. Notice the basket weave texture in the white ground of the pottery and the exceptional \"braid\" handle on the top of the lid. The molded registration diamond is there, but it is impossible to decipher. There is an impressed \"MINTON\" name mark and also the 1884 date symbol (a box with an \'x\').

CONDITION: Antique item. For an 129 year old piece, the condition is GREAT. There is some crazing on the bowl, an area on the underside (shown in photo) and also in the interior (finer and impossible to capture in a photo). One slightly rough area along the bottom rim of bowl. On the lid, I see just one area of thin glaze along the scalloped rim.
