Every now and then we will see a piece of jewelry such as this one , such magnificent craftsmanship from another era in time where hard work and quality meant everything . This piece is so well-crafted that it has stood the test of time but like all antique pieces of jewelry it has been changed and moved around as this was probably the centerpiece of a necklace at one time and now it is a brooch with a good sturdy gold clasp and closure and also has a bail on it so it can be hung from a chain I also believe that the pear-shaped emerald dangle has also been added , these pieces will always show signs of wear this one is no exception , some of the emeralds have microscopic scratches seen in the photos and under magnification . Around 2 carats of diamonds mostly round full cut and single cut and all of the prongs have been checked under magnification to be sure it is safe to wear if desired however realistically it belongs in a collection or museum somewhere . Concerning the appraisal , a piece like this is worth every penny of its appraised value because it can never be replaced and is from a time where .. they simply do not make jewelry like this anymore and a piece like this can only be replaced as a new item !! It is un replaceable!!! . . A magnificent antique creation from a private estate being offered at this time , sturdy and ready to wear but belongs in a fine collection somewhere .
