For your consideration, is this 100+ year old porcelain infant feeder bottle stopper by S. Maw Son & Thompson, London, England. Based on the business name atop,this wasmanufacturedbetween 1870 - 1900. S. Maw Son & Thompson producedmedical instruments, apparatus, equipment and pharmacy supplies at their7-12 Aldersgate,London location (also displayed on top). With the help of a fellow er, I believe this was likely bottle stopper, once resting atop of an infant feeder or bottle. Originally, the inside would have a had a cork strip to grip the rim of the baby bottle. A long rubber tube fitted with a glass fastener on one end passed through the lid\'s hole and ended with a small teat & bone shield. This allowed the bottle to siphon milk, enabling the baby to feed itself. Tragically, the long tube couldn\'t be cleaned or sterilized properly, leading to a rise in infant mortality rates .

Measures approximately 1 2/3\" in diameter x 1\" tall.
