I\'m so glad that you found my sale page. My wife (and I) collected all kinds of \"great stuff\" for well over 45+ years. I am now faced with having to downsize 45+ years of great collecting. My wife had a passion for all kinds of jewelry, antiques, oriental art, her collection is very large and very eclectic, from tin to Tiffany, so please be sure to have a look at my other sales. I have spent endless hours online trying to researchmanyitems to try and acquireinformation to provide the best possible description. With the gracious helpof my daughter,I tried to provide the best possible high resolution close up photos and let you all decide the worth, I have hundreds of items to offer. If you are a collector or perhaps you resell here on or other Sites, there are wonderful buys and lots of hidden treasures to be found here. Ilike doingbusiness the \"old fashion\" way, I promise great customer service andwith the many choices you have out there, Igreatlyappreciate your business.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION:I am offering a beautiful antique Japanese Meiji Period Forofferden Stitch pouch, located a few online referenced as Tobacco pouches though elegant enough to be a classy ladies fine clutch. This is not my area of expertise so please have a look at the photos, this beauty is offered with . Has been packed away \'out of the light\' for many years, retains a vivid color. A dragon is incorporated into the design with a highly detaileddimensional repousse silver buckle that I found referenced as a menuki or kanemono buckle, buckle measures2\" x 1\" looks like a figural guardian Foo Dog(Lion) or Tiger with a Dragon, very unusual, patina on the buckle is very aged, looks like silver, left untouched. When originally created therewas a multi chain attachment on the top of the pouch which is not present, possibly referred to as the netsuke. When you open the top of the pouch you will see the two tinyholes where this attachment was once located. I did locate a couple of these attachments netsuke being sold on . The silk pouch itselfis in beautiful condition with very little losses, a tiny bit of fraying on some of the silk floss along the edge and on some fine areas, nothing detracting at all and no lose threads, super nice, especiallyconsidering it\'s antique age and organic components, measures 5 1/2\" across x 3 1/2\" long. The entire exterior is covered in the intensely laborious Forofferden Stitch silk embroidery, this moniker refers to the \'seed\' or \'knotted\' stitch, highly decorative ultra fine worked silk which is associated to both Japanese & Chinese Emperors.Historians believe that this technique of embroidery wasfor theEmperors court only as was not to leave the Forofferden City for us mere mortals, there is quite a bit of interesting history regarding this beautiful art form. Features accordionstyle sides for expansion, there is a main compartment and under the flap is another compartment. The interior silk fabric is so fine it feels like ultra soft calf or suede, possibly is. The closuresnap remainshowever it no longer snaps. I have taken many close up photos of every angle possible for your review and always welcome opinions from knowledgeable collectors. Some minor wear consistent with age is noted. If this treasurespeaks to your heart, please don\'t let itpass you by, what a beautifulsilk pouchto add to a superior antique Oriental or antique purse collection.Offered with , as is. USPS boxed shipping is $9.95 to any destination in the continental U.S.A.. No International Shipping, sorry...

4/25 Hi Folks. I just wanted to inform serious buyers that on the \'offer history\' page, I cancelled an offer of $500.00becausethe buyeris registered in China and I clearly state that \"I do not ship internationally\". After several attempts to contact this person, I was totallyignored. Also, after checking on this buyer, I was shocked, their response is awful with lots of offerding, lots of winningandlots ofnotpaying complaints from disappointed sellers, hopefully will shut them down. offer cancellations and retractions only hurt an sale so I thought to inform everyoneas to the circumstances. This is a special antique Japanese Meiji Period pouch with great aesthetic beauty. Thank you for your interest and enjoy the sale.
