A watch bearing a 30 meter water resistance mark does not mean that the watch is suitable for swimming. Most of these tests carried out on watches are static tests, which means that the watch is not being moved in the water test / pressure test , moving a watch in water creates a lot more pressure on the watch .

Water Resistant 3 ATM or 30 m Suitable for everyday use. Splash/rain resistant. NOT suitable for showering, bathing, swimming, snorkelling, water related work and fishing.
