This card has four available video ports: One lower DVI, one HDMI and two mini Display ports. The grey Apple boot screen is visible through the bottom DVI port or display port, or hdmi port, you must be using one single display connected to see the boot screen on start up .For multiple monitor setups,you will not see the boot screen, but the card will work normally once your desktop appears.
