Up for your consideration is this beautifully detailed Italian lavabo. Please be sure to see the other items we have listed.

FEATURES: This highly dimensional lavabo is hand made with beautiful and intricate detail. It is a high quality Italian made Piece. The colors compliment each other very well. It has a solid brass spigot.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: These were originally used as a fountain for washing your hands whereas the upper jar held and dispensed the water and it had the basin beneath it to catch the water. These were used in monasteries or churches and eventually in homes.

MAKER: Ardalt

ON THE BACK: There is \'Ardalt\', \'Frutta Antica\', \'5897 Italy\' all written on the back of the lavabo in what looks like red paint.

SIZE: The upper section measures about 15-1/2\" Tall with the lid x 9-3/4\" wide x 4-1/2\" Deep. The lower section measure about 6-5/8\" tall x 14\" Wide x 6-3/4\" deep

COLOR: This lavabo has a mixture of different colors that have been handpainted onto the piece. The base color of all three parts is a cream or off-white along with a light mauve color around the creases to help bring out the hand-carved details in the pattern. The vine design that covers the two main pieces are a tint of beige and the leaves are nice burnt umber. Each fruit on the different vines share similar shades to realistic fruits. We are unsure exactly what each fruit is but our guesses are limes, apples, grapes, and pomegranates on the vines. The limes are each a rich green with a slight hue of yellow. The apples have a watered-down magenta and yellow. The grapes are a light lavender color. The pomegranates are a very realistic burgundy.

CONDITION: It comes to you in overall excellent condition with the following exceptions. On the upper section there is a chip off of the leaf farthest to the right hand side, and a small section of skinny vine on the left side. On the bottom section, the third leaf from the middle also has a chip to it\'s left half, similar to the other leaf. There are a few hair line cracks around both sections to the lavabo that were made in the creation process. During the firing process, the clay shrinks and the smaller, more fine parts seem to crack in the process due to their size. We are unsure if these imperfections happened during the creation process because they have been painted over with a matching brown to hide it, so I am thinking they may have been done then. You really like the thing, but not so much the price...

I find cool stuff, do some research and list it for what I think it\'s worth. Sounds pretty simple but sometimes not. So if this is something you really like but its a bit more than you had hoped to pay, then be sure to watch this because I can\'t send it to the bank, and if it ends without a buyer chances are real good I will either drop the price or put it on sale and re-list it until it does sell! Two things for sure - it will get sold sooner rather than later, and that\'s better for both of us.
