These specimensare from the Chinle formation in northEastern Arizona, an area famous for its varied and brilliantly colored petrified wood. It dates back to the Triassic era and is of the extinct species of tree, araucarioxylon Arizonicum. The different colors are due to the different minerals present during the petrification process.These pieces have good rainbow coloringand some nice bark. Add them to your terrarium or fairy garden. The one in photos 3, 4 & 5 (bottom left) weighs about1 lb.2 3/4oz., and measures about3\" x3\" x2 1/2\". The one in photos 6,7 & 8 (bottom right) weighs about 1 lb.5oz. and measures about3 1/2\" x3\" x2 1/2\". The one in photos 9,10 & 11 (top) weighs about1 lb.6oz., and measures about3 1/4\" x3\" x2\".
