We purchased this lovely antique bisque head doll atan estate sale recently, together with another similar doll and some dollaccessories that we will list at the same time.

This blue-eyed lovely has markings on the back of herhead: \"Made in Germany - ArmandMarseille - 390n- DRC\'M. 246/1 - A.10.M\"Some research online shows that these dolls were produced roughlybetween 1885 and 1930. Her eyes closewhen she is tilted back.

The bisque head is on what looks to be a hard plastic body but the hands are a different plastic material and a different color…probablynewer (?). [PLEASE NOTE: We have just received a very nice note from a collector who has said they think the body is plastic - a Patti Play Pal body perhaps and is not composition, so the head is on a replaced body.] She is outfitted with acotton slip, stockings and shoes underneath a beautiful eyelet lacyivorydress, over which is a soft, ivory coat fastened with an enamel pin and toppedwith a fancy, silk beaded collar. Shehas a removable velvet-like flower band on her head. We assume that all these different articlesof clothing were put together and, though it looks lovely together, not each ofthe articles are in perfect condition….there are some small moth bites on thecoat and the enamel pin has a little bit of chipping.

She stands approximately 23\" high. The circumference of her head isapproximately 14\" at the forehead.We are certainly not doll experts so please use the many photos as partof the description and feel free to ask any specific questions you have.
