ART DECO MANTEL CLOCK

KIENZLE / HERMLE / JUNGHANS ERA (c.1930s-40s)

Alas, the maker\'s insignia is missing; if you look at the dial, you can see two small \"pock marks\" where it was apparently once attached. I haven\'t found the exact mate of this clock in my research, but judging by the style -- chiming mechanism, dial, etc. -- I believe it\'s Kienzle. (Any experts out there? Feel free to message me if you disagree.)

Features:

- Two winders: time and chime

- Includes original art deco-style key (the one with square holes). However, it is a tight fit for the time winder, due to the way the works are currently mounted, so I\'m throwing in a secondkey that fits much better.

- The chime is full-throated, but it\'s a simple tone -- not a tune: double chime on the hour, single chime on the half-hour.

- YES, the chime can be silenced if you wish. There\'s a small lever in the back that will keep the hammers from hitting the chime rods.

- It has a rhythmic ticking, but not annoyingly loud like the pendulum models.

Size (approximate):

- 22-1/2\" wide

- 9\" tall

- 6\" deep

Condition Details - PLEASE READ:

- Beautiful vintage/antique WORKING condition.

- ORIGINAL - UNRESTORED (has been waxed, but not refinished)

- Some scratches on wood and brass finish. PLEASE see photo ... especially the final one: Viewed from the top, you\'ll see the finish is a bit sunburnt/stained on the left side of the clock (only), so I\'m guessing that side was facing a window.

- Face cover hinge is operational, but must be handled with TLC, due to loose screws. Or, you could have it repaired/restored if you wish.

- Picks up about 7 seconds/hour. (I\'m all thumbs when it comes to fine-tuning/regulating these dual-lever balance wheel models, so I\'ll leave it to you!)

All said, you may spend some time tinkering with the adjustments and working on the finish -- and I\'ve priced itaccordingly.
