This necklace has all the elements of a great gem. It is so hard to find these eminently wearable classic jewels! The necklace is absolutely gorgeous! The dramatic design with a central red glass cabochon with filigree and enamel and rhinestone flowers is just stunning! The metal is most likely a mixed metal. The necklace is most likely made in Czechoslovakia although it could also be Austro-Hungarian. It is the epitome of femininity and elegance and Art Deco dramatic style. It dates to the Art Deco period c1920-1930.
The necklace comes from a prominent New York city estate. It is classic and elegant and has great impact - with all the elements that you look for in antique jewelry - quality, design, originality, sparkle, drama, just a perfect estate jewel!!!
The necklace is in excellent condition. There is no damage to the cabochon and the enamel all appears intact. The necklace is not signed. The central cabochon pendant is 33 mm wide and 53 mm long. The necklace is 15 inches (39 cm) long. The necklace weighs 18 grams.
