Art Deco Silver Marcasite & Onyx Floral Lorgnette / Pendant:

A wonderful pair of Continental silver Lorgnette or opera glasses, c. 1920s. The floral design on the front has two bezel set onyx and is decorated all over with marcasites. The lorgnette opens and closes well, with spring mechanism nicely functioning. They are marked RAU and have a serial number. Additionally, they have European silver hallmarks (probably French). It has it\'s original bale, also decorated with marcasites, to allow it to be worn on a chain. They measure 3\" in length, including the bale and 1 1/4\" in maximum width. They weigh 26.9 grams. Condition is excellent.
