Wonderful Art Deco lamp entitled, \"Day and Night.\" Entwined lovers under a crescent moon. The man is reaching up to draw down the cover of clouds to shield the pair from view. All in wonderful color.Bronze-clad, a manufacturing technique whereby a skin of bronze was deposited on a plaster form through the process of electro-plating. A handful of companies used this method in the early 1900s to make decorative household objects that had the look, feel and heft of solid bronze yet still were affordable by the middle class.One of those companies was Pompeian Bronze, operating in NYC in the early 1920s. I\'ve included a photo of this item from an original Pompeian catalogue. The price list shows this version with \"Special Finishes\" (meaning polychrome) was $45. I am charging more.Condition is excellent. No breaks in the cladding, no portions of the design dented, bent or broken off.Finish is original, shows a little wear, but mostly is lovely and bright.It has been re-wired recently by an established, antique lamp store. I can\'t say whether the hardware is original - probably not, though I did not have it replaced. The top cap swivels so you can be sure the shade will hang at a level angle.Buyer has only 2 decisions: what decorative shade; and where to display it.Height is adjustable, from 24 inches to 26 inches.
