This is an incredible sterling silver overlay vase by the well known Lapierre Silver Company (1888-1929). Lapierre is known as a high quality company that was commissioned to decorate Loetz glass for the American market. This is a beautiful Art Nouveau quilted green glass vase by the company with exceptional sterling silver floral overlay. The glass has a somewhat satin sheen / look to it, but in person it does not have the heavy opaque satin look. The mark is exceedingly faint on this piece and very difficult to get a photo of. I have done my best - the mark is a cursive capital \"L\" with \"STERLING\" to the right of the L. The condition of this beautiful vase is very good with no chips, cracks, or other damage to the glass and no loss that I can see to the silver overlay. The vase currently has its original patina - it would be stunning cleaned up but I prefer to leave the materials and methods of cleaning up to the preference of the buyer. The bottom of the vase has a somewhat rough pontil - if you run your fingers over it there are some raised bits. There are also faint numbers scratched into the glass near the punt - possibly a \"41\" and either \"102\" or \"112\". I am unsure as to the meaning of these marks. This stunning vase measures just about 5&1/4\" tall and about 3&1/2\" at the widest. The opening at the top measures 2&1/4\" in diameter. The detail and depth of the silver is high quality as you can see in the closeup. The flowers are beautifully done and they flow across the surface of the glass.
