Arts & Crafts Pottery Jardiniere W Celtic Knots Weller Pewabic Stickley Era:
Antique vintage mission style English? arts and crafts large stoneware planter or jardiniere. Maker unknown, probably 80- 100 years old. Nice blue drip glaze over impressed Celtic design knots on all sides. Could be American or European, possibly English, Liberty & Co Archibald Knox Tudric style. The closest piece I could find that was similar was a Weller planter or some of the Pewabic pieces have the same glaze or clay. I have owned this piece for almost 25 years and was the centerpiece on my Stickley dining table back when I was collecting Craftsman furniture. Measures 11" wide by 9" high and in in great vintage condition. Has a small fleck on the inside rim with age related light crazing in the thick blue glaze. There are some glaze misses mainly on the underside that are not visible. No cracks or hairlines, the pot has a ring when lightly tapped. A very good looking piece!
