Handmade in Japan Probably in about 1970Aspen was a brand name of distributor, International Music Corporation (IMC), of Fort Worth, Texas. I believe they were first made at Hoshino Gakki (I could be wrong)

The finish opening at the heel base appears to be due to mild wood shrinkage and is actually solid.The neck is straight and true.
