For your consideration, this lovely antique Auguste Moreau bronzedspelter woman with lyresculpture on a beveled marble base. This bears the Auguste Moreau signature and has the Paris stamp on theback bottom of the dress, which I believe indicates this was produced by the family in the same factory after Auguste\'s death in 1917. This stands 20.25\" tall and thebase is 8\" across. It is a nice and hefty 20 lbs. A very beautiful and elegant piece.
The marble base is in excellent condition and the metal base upon it is a little roughhewn, which I think is intended. No broken, missing or repaired parts. Please see all photos. Message me anytime with any questions.
Auguste Moreau was a french sculptor. Born February 22, 1834 (died 1917), Auguste is the son of the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Moreau. His sculptors are mostly bronze, and shown at fine art museums such as the Museum of Troyes and the Museum of Fine Arts of Bordeaux.
