Edith MurielJohnson was born in Melbourne, Victoria on the 12th of March 1887and was working as a nurse when she joined the Australian Army Nursing Serviceon the 11th of July 1917.

Edith embarkedfrom Sydney on the 31st of August 1917 and arrived at Alexandria onthe 5th of October 1917, joining the 19th General Hospital for duty asa Staff Nurse on the 12th of October 1917. On the 3rd ofApril 1918 Edith embarked for Salonika and served with the 42nd and 52ndGeneral Hospitals. On the 4th of August 1918 Edith was hospitalizedsuffering from Malaria.

Edithembarked for the UK on the 16th of February 1919 and Returned toAustralia on the 23rd of June 1919.

Edith is also entitled to a Victory Medal.Scarce medal to an Australian nurse.
