For your consideration is a delightful authentic 1860s silk skirt, in a phenomenal hot pink color that can only be termed, “brazen”. This taffeta piece is clearly aniline-dyed, with a vividness that’s nearly obnoxious. Brilliant and fabulous!

Like many weighted silk taffeta pieces of this era, there are splits along the fabric, primarily along old creases. This would be a fantastic pattern/research piece, and is strong enough to withstand necessary handling and draping. Due to the garment’s age and condition, wearing is strongly discouraged.
