14TH CENTURY YUAN DYNASTY (1271-1368)LONGQUAN CELADONBARBED-RIMLOTUS DISHLONGQUAN KILNS,SOUTHERN ZHEJIANG PROVINCE, CHINAWell potted with deep sides; the center of the interior decorated with an open lotus blossom, under a beautiful and consistent sea-foam green glaze. The cavetto (slanted area between center and rim) exhibits 22 hand-carved fluted grooves on the face and 26 carved grooves on the reverse . Fully glazed foot, and a recessed base, with an unglazed ring burnt red in the firing, exposing a separate gray clay ring where dish was pulled from the kiln after firing. 9 3/4 inches (24.8 cm) diameter, 2 1/8 inches (5.4 cm) deep
