Very tightly woven and suitable for floor This rug is extremely tight and extremely heavy and the density is perfect for a floor rugClassic Teec Nos Pos Patterns are some of the most intricate and beautiful of Navajo weavings. With 17 months on the loom this Navajo Rug is no exception and is one of the largest woven today. It is a tribute to its artistic creator Alice Nelson. Artist: Alice Poyer Nelson, born c. 1940
Clan: Tábaahá, born for Ashiihí (Water’s Edge, Salt People)An Alice Nelson rug won First Place in the 1971 Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial and was published in Arizona Highways magazine in 1974. Her weavings have shown multiple borders and varied geometric motifs and exude classic Teec Nos Pos patterns, frequently copied by other weavers.
