Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798 - 1861)
Born to a silk-dyer and originally named Yoshizo, Kuniyoshi was born in 1798. He studied with the artist Kuninan, and was admitted to Toyokuni\'s art studio in 1811.
Producing portraits of actors, followed by a number of triptychs, he started a series - the Suikoden (Hundred and Eight Chinese Heroes), which took him on towards success.
Cats were his favourite animal, and he kept many in his studio (which inspired a number of his works). Suffering from illness and depression he died in Edo, in 1861.

We carefully package all our artwork for shipment anywhere around the globe and are happy to combine shipping costs on multiple purchases.

Canvas size is approximately 16.5in by 11.75in (approx 420mm by 300mm), this includes a small white border around the print itself, which is insufficent for stretching over a large box frame (larger margins can be offered upon request, but this does reduce the print size). Canvases are suitable for traditional framing without need for stretching.
Depending on dimensions of the picture, this border may vary (e.g. squarer or more rectangular images will have larger margins top and bottom).

Canvases come unframed, unstretched and without mount.
