Description A wonderfulEnglish antique solid sterling silver &guilloche enamelladies powder compact by the silversmith Henry Clifford Davis, in excellent condition and with full English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1937.Superbquality genuine 81 year old example, decorated with a beautiful scarce enamelled scene depicting \"mallard ducks in flight\", and with an attractive mint green border.Inside it still has its original fully gilded interior and includes its original clean undamaged mirror. As a bonus there are no added personal engraved inscriptions or monograms. A real beauty and much above average.

MeasurementsMeasures approx 2.8 inches (68mm) in diameter and is0.35 inches (8mm) deep.

Date English antique solid sterlingsilver, with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1937, (date letter \"N\"). Lovely clear struck marks.Maker Silversmiths initials \"H.C.D\" (Henry Clifford Davis).ConditionExcellent condition, with nosplits or cracksto the silver, no solder repairsand no knocks ordents, a lovely clean example, looks only little used. The silverlid hinge works perfectly and the lid opens and closes tightly and securely. Most importantly the beautiful guilloche enamelling is in superb condition, no chips, cracks or losses and definitely no restoration. Has only minor surface scratching from use.The original interior gilding is undamaged and the original mirror is still pristine, with no chips, cracks or hairlines and is nice and clear, no age foxing/marking. Superbquality with a rare flying mallards scene. There are no added personal engraved inscriptions.
