SIMPLY GORGEOUS! Approximately 15 years old, this lovely, laminated, 2 piece unit features an upper, open shelf bookcase or display cabinet which rests upon a curved, bombe base which contains 2 large drawers. The lacquered finish is a deep green with marbled effect which is accented with painted rose swags and acanthus leaves. There are 3 adjustable shelves in the bookcase area. The shelf area on the bookcase unit is flanked with ivory colored, Corinthian columns with dimensional, acanthus leaf capitals and bases. Its top is arched with deep dimension and a large shell at the crown. Its sides have recessed panels which contain long, painted rose swags. The bombe base has 2 drawers decorated with painted acanthus leaves on their front. The drawers are lined on the bottom in brown felt. They have beautiful, drop drawer pulls. The drawers are flanked with protruding sections which have gold painted leaves. There is a large Neoclassical applique below the drawers as well as dimensional trim, which are finished in gold. The legs/feet are curved. Cabinet is not marked. Very good condition with minor nicks and minor scratches. Measures 81.25\" tall, (base is 21\" tall and bookcase unit is 60.25\"). It is 48.5\" wide (at the base) and is 16\" deep. The drawers have an interior measurement of 16\" wide, 11\" deep and 7.5\" tall. The bookcase shelves are 41\" wide and 12\" deep.
