This is a Beautiful Large Art Deco Solid Silver little bo peep 4 Bell Babies Rattle with a Mother of pearl Teether to one end, This wonderful Art Deco Babies Rattle was crafted by the highly sought after Silversmith W H Collins, it was assayed in Birmingham in 1939 making it 79 years old, to the top you will see embossed decoration of little bo peep with her staff in hand, her other hand raised to her eyes looking out for her sheep, this is repeated on both sides, this sits within an almost diamond shape with a smooth finish to the background, the 2 top bells hand from the most beautiful shell designed shoulders and the other 2 bells are below, though one is missing, this could be replaced, to the top it has a wonderful scroll design that would once have had a loop for a ring, to the bottom of the rattle it also has beautiful scroll work finished with raised banding where it meets the mother of pearl teether, the bells still make a wonderful sound.The quality of the craftsmanship is superb. This Art Deco rattle would have once belonged to a very wealthy family and been used many times, this was many years ago when things were so very different.It is so very tactile and once picked up has the most wonderful feel, it is a wonderful example of a fine quality solid silver babies Rattle, this will add something very special to any collection, my photos dont do it justice,
