Amazing early Maine woven basket fresh from Maine Estate of an antique dealer/collector. Was stored away for decades, as lady moved from the East Coast to the Midwest many years ago. One of several other baskets that will be listed from her estate.
I believe the basket is mid 1800\'s. Not sure of material, maybe Ash, collectors may know better. Almost everything from her estate was pre 1900 & some even older. Nice mid sized gathering basket with neat bent wood handle. This could be cleaned, I did not attempt to as some collectors like them as is.
The basket is in fair to good shape, but not perfect. There are some small weave breaks on bottom & maybe a few on sides. Otherwise it is in good shape. Please review all photos taken for your consideration, I photoed all sides of basket. Still maintains good display quality as sides are solid.
