BIG 3\"+ Vtg SIGNED Modernist WINIFRED MASON Silver & Copper LEAF Pin Brooch RARE. We are not sure of the metal content, if this is sterling silver or another silver alloy. The pin is large at just over 3\" by 1.75\". The design is sort of a biomorphic leaf design. For those that don\'t know Winifred Mason was a female Black American Modernist Jeweler who mentored Art Smith in NYC. She is not as well known because she worked in a time where women, let alone black woman, were not given the same opportunities as men. More people are learning her story and collecting her work. Her later work marked \"Chenet D\'Haiti\" is more common, but these early piece marked \"Mason\" are from her early NYC days and VERY RARE, a must have for any mid century collection.
