This sale Is For One Of Two Antique Vintage Paintings Attributed To American Primitive Black Folk Artist Bill Traylor. This Example Is Signed On The Reverse With His Name Three Times. While These Paintings Were Purchased With A Verbal History And Provenance, They Have No Written Or Exhibition History. We Were Told They Were Aquired In Exchange Through A Trade From A Chicago Resident Back Around 1997. Originally There Was A Small Collection / Portfolio Of Paintings. Sadly Only A Few Remained. As Stated The Condition Is Generally Good On Both Of These Paintings. They Do Both Show Signs Of Dirt , Wear , Handeling , With Some Staining. In Addition There Is Rubbing And Damage To The Edges And Corners Of The Heavy Paper And / Or Poster Board (?) Cardboard (?). The Subject Matter Of This Painting Is A Older Black Man With Cane & A Young Black Girl Riding A Horse. The Figures And Horse Are Pencil Drawn And Then Painted With Water Color. The Young Black Girls Dress May Have The X Pattern Drawn With Red Pencil (?). The Overall Size / Demensions Are Approximately 14\" Wide By 11\" Tall. I Have Uploaded A Picture Of Both The Front And The Reverse Side Of Both The Paintings Listed. As Stated, This Example Is Signed Bill Traylor Three Times On The Reverse Side With Two Pencil Drawn Crows. Do To The Lack Of A Written Provenance And Exhibition History These Two Paintings Are Being Sold As Attributed To And / Or In The Manner / Style Of Bill Traylor.
