I\'m delighted to present for your consideration this 4-page piece of vintage, jazz/blues sheet music that is from the Black Americana genre found to be in very good condition entitled \"Waitin\' For The Evenin\' Mail (Sittin\' On The Inside, Lookin\' At The Outside)\" featuring James Barton in \"Black Face\" from the musical comedy \"Dew Drop Inn.\" This is an interesting piece of blues music, whereas it starts in the Key of E Flat Major, but surprisingly it would appear and sounds like it modulates to D Flat Minor which is hardly the relative minor for this song\'s Key Signature. As you will find, it changes keys again in the \"Patter.\" Billy Baskette, who wrote the words and music for this song which is for vocal and piano, did an outstanding job, not only with the music, but as well, the sad lyrics that that it accompanies. This music would seem a \"must-have\" for any jazz musician\'s repertoire\'. It was copyrighted and published in 1923 by Waterson, Berlin & Snyder, Co., New York, New York.
