British Pattern 1888 Mk Ii Lee Metford Enfield Bayo W/ Scabbard-unit Marked For Sale
British Pattern 1888 MK II bayonet and scabbard for the Long Lee Metford and Lee Enfield rifles and some carbines. Manufactured by Sanderson Sheffield and accepted February 1895. Very good condition overall. Excellent bright blade with deep clear markings. A few sharpening marks at front. Bright guard and pommel. Very good grips, no cracks. Some handling marks at top of grips. Unit marked on pommel-47 RGA over 70. Steel scabbard is gray, with no serious dents or pitting. Leather frog is either individual soldier made or unit saddler made, stamped JHJ on back. An interesting P-1888 MK II bayonet in very good condition.
