Offered is a well preserved APO 472 cover posted from Newbury, Berkshire, England on 27 December, 1943 from Major Douglas T. Davidson, the 502nd Parachute Infantry Surgeon. The 502nd was part of the \"Band of Brothers\" in the Stephen Ambrose book, for which the TV series was named. Cover franked at the concession airmail rate and has a well struck APO cancel. Cover has very little soil from age. Cover very carefully slit open at left front edge with no tears or damage. Backside is clean and free from any faults. Cover has the Major\'s manuscript censorship docketing. WW2 Paratrooper covers are held in dear regard among advanced military postal history collectors. This is a very nice cover.
