You are offerding on a B&O MMC 5 audiophile phono cartridge. I have tested this unit in my RX-2 turntable (also available) and also using the standard mount headshell adapter in a standard tonearm. It sounds and tracks superbly, in fact, this is absolutely one of the finest phono cartridges I\'ve ever heard. Sound in both channels is even, clear, and strong. I am impressed by the delicacy and tonal accuracy of this cartridge. It is not hard-sounding or shrill, but it is open and insightful. Midrange is liquid and free of artifacts. This is a very neutral, natural sounding cartridge able to negotiate difficult passages without strain, and I don\'t mean in the bright and unrefined way that cheap Ortofons or Audio Technicas seem neutral, solid and detailed to inexperienced users. This is a graceful, refined cartridge with more in common with the nicer moving coil devices I have heard. So why am I selling it? My DIY wood tonearm is medium mass...way too heavy for the B&O. I also like a very syrupy, romantic, sound and the MMC 5 is more true to life...so while I am capable of understanding, appreciating, and understanding how special it is, it\'s not the right unit for my system. I don\'t know how many hours are on this cartridge, but on my modest $13,000 setup, it sounds like it is in fantastic operating condition with therefore plenty of life left.
