Extremely Rare Large Example of Nerikomi Style Banko Tapestry Ware Vase from the Late 19 C to Early 20 C

After much research I determined this wonderful ceramic art is calledNerikomi Style, Banko Tapestry Ware, which takes rendered sections of colored claydesigns, which are formed into sheets and then rolled out on a flat surface tobe finally folded and formed into a vase in this case. I have discovered thisvase is a very large and rare example at almost 10\" tall. Interestingly, the interior shot #5 shows folds (not cracks) created during the rolling and forming process, in the surface ofthe ceramic and also verifies the pattern on the outside is in fact the exact samepattern on the inside. When you shine light on the outside, each pattern showsthrough on the inside. This is a wonderful uncommon art form that is rarely seen in objects this large.

This a valuable collectors item that was handed down by my in-laws and gathered during their many trips to Europe.

About the vase: it stands almost 10\" tall, 5 3/4\" wide, and weighs 2.3 lbs.
