This door faceplate came from a local large, late 1800\'s building that for many, many years was on the entry door of what was a boys boarding school. The building burned a few years ago. The door with the hardware was damaged badly. Some time after removing it from what was left of the door, thoroughly cleaning off the gunk and thinking I would mount it to our door - (an1870 Victorian home), I couldn\'t (see below).
Overall dimensions are 4\" wide by 16.5\" long and fits a 2\" thick door. Has a number 6061S - Maker is RUSSWIN. The assembly is in good condition. It is missing a couple items to work properly.
The plate is missing a spring that somehow pops the mail slot door open after the mailman trips it open with the door knob. Then he shuts it and the slot door locks closed. I tried to figure it out but needs an engineer to recognize the problem.Secondly, the inside knob needs the bell shaped piece that covers the door hole and stabilizes the knob. I lost it. Honestly, I don\'t know if it is missing anything else.
