It is rare to find these fans in this shape. For sale is a stunning embroidered Chinese silk and hand carved wood fan with enamel box. Fan has classic embroidered dragon motif. This belonged to my aunt who was a buyer for Neiman Marcus in the 1920\'s-30\'s. She traveled all over the world and brought home fabulous items for herself. This is one of them and I doubt she really used it. I have owned it for 40 years and opened it fewer than 10 times, it has always been carefully stored away with other treasures.
It is in remarkable shape, better than any fan I\'ve seen on in quite awhile. There is virtually no damage to the fan or box except a few chips at the base of the box. Nothing is broken, box clasp and hinges work fine. There may be a couple of places where some slight yellowing has occurred to the silk but they are hard to see.
