This is a stunning 8 day antiquecolumn rosewood mantel clock by Seth Thomas. The clock appeared in Seth Thomas’ catalog in1870, so it is around 144 years old! The case is Rosewood and is complete and inbeautiful condition

The movement works great and was cleaned and oiledwithin the last 4 months and works really well.It keeps good time and strikes each hour on a nice sounding gong. The clock stands approx. 16 inches tall andis 10 ½ inches wide. Please study thephotos as they are part of the description.

Please note that all antique mechanical clocks reactto changes in temperature and humidity and, especially after shipping, almostsurely will need adjustment to keep proper time. You do this by turning therating nut at the very bottom of the pendulum (turn left to right to move thependulum up for faster and the opposite for slower). Only set the clock by turning the minute handclockwise and do not move the hour hand.As you do this, be sure to stop and let it strike the hour before movingahead. Also, be sure it is level so thetick tock (the “beat”) is even. Ifnecessary, put small folded paper shims on one side or the other until the beatis nice and even.
