All of the art work and collectibles being sold by Adams-Byrd Fine Art & Antiques have been collected and selected one at a time by the proprietor, an art historian with many years of training and experience in university art history departments, museums, galleries, and historic sites both in the U.S. and abroad. The business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years. The art and collectibles that we are offering to buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully “curated” by us.This beautiful Italian heavy pewter tabletop photo frame is marked on the back --- PELTRO ITALY B (a fancy initial, presumably for the manufacturer\'s name) and MOD. DEP. The curving and intertwining flowers and leaves evoke the Art Nouveau style of the late 19th century. The heart shaped opening has glass to protect the special photo that you will select for this unique frame. The pewter has a nice old looking patina -- with a bit of a mottled / speckled look. The frame is definitely from the 20th century even though it looks older. On both the front and back of the frame, a variety of textured finishes helps give this frame its special old fashioned look. The backing has a woodtone back surface, and a dark brown fabric on the side against which you will position your photograph (or art, or whatever else you decide to frame).
