Lovely embossed/raised designs to the lid finial, handles, utensil holder prongs & rims!
The extended utensil holder prongs to the base bowl accommodates a
knife, fork or spoon ~ a lovely antique 1847 ROGERS BROS master butter knife is included,though not the original a lovely compliment indeed!
The original inner plate/dish to this server is stamped with the identical pattern #183 (see photo #8).
These inner plate/dishes are quite rare to be found and included with these butter/cheese servers.
An impressive and lovely compliment to any table setting for festive occasions & holidays!
For those not familiar with these kinds of servers, they are mini refrigerators, so to speak!The inner base chamber holds ice chips, and when the inner plate is placed atop the ice chips, butter orcheese placed atop the plate is refrigerated when the lid cover is placed over the lower bowl. Hand Wash Only! Do Not Place in Dishwasher!

Very Good Condition for being around 125 years old!There are areas of plate loss to this butter/cheese server - to the bowl and to one side of the lid.
The inner base of the bowl (ice chamber) is very clean, stain free, and does not show any plate loss,or corrosion/rust, the inner plate is in the same condition - light scratches & scuffs.
The antique 1847 ROGERS butter knife is in very good condition with light scuffs and no plate loss.
Light scuffs & scratches all around this set due to use and age.
