Beautiful Cissy Doll 20” Madame Alexander Original Tagged Dress:

This 1950\'s doll was made by Madame Alexander. Her name is Cissy and she comes with her original red taffeta dress, lace shawl, slip, panties & nylons. The dress still has the original tag. Her face is beautiful with no issues that I can see. Her eyelashes, painted lower lashes and mouth are perfect. She has a hard plastic head and body with jointed legs and soft vinyl jointed arms. Her dress fastens at the back with the original square snaps. The elastic at the waist needs to be replaced. I have not tried to tighten it with a safety pin for fear of damaging it. I also want to mention the “boning” in the slip. It is more oval than round. I suspect this happened during the years the doll was stored away. I am not a seamstress but it looks like replacing the it wouldn’t be a big deal. At some point in time the red dress left some marks on her upper body. None of the exposed \"skin\" for a lack of a better word is stained. I will leave it to her new owner to remove. She is missing her earrings and shoes. Her legs and arms are tight. Her head is slightly loose but still able to hold a pose. I don\'t see any rips to her clothing. The red taffeta still has a lot of body to the fabric.I have tried to give a detailed description on her condition. While I\'ve given a lot of negative this doll is absolutely beautiful. I am not an expert in vintage dolls and encourage you to ask questions. What might seem trivial to me could be important to you. All in all I’d say this doll is in great but not mint condition. I’ve taken a lot of photos and they should be considered part of the description. I’m starting the sale low and will let you decide her value. Thanks for looking.
