Beautiful Elliot lithograph of a Borneo Bay Cat :
$250.00

\"Felis Badia,\" from \"A Monograph of the Felidae or Family of Cats,\" by Daniel Giraud Elliot (1835-1915). The Bay Cat is found on the island of Borneo.Elliot was a zoologist and a founder of the American Museum of Natural History in New York. The prints in this work were a collaboration of two other well known names in the field of natural history, Joseph Smit (a Dutch zoological illustrator) and Joseph Wolf (a German artist). I got this lithograph and asecond similar one (Felis Planiceps) when aninternational law firm relocated its offices and changed its art work -- both appear to be relatively rare. It is 23 x 28 1/2 framed, and the area within the matting is roughly 23 3/4 x 18 3/4.

In excellent condition, and priced well below similar works.
