A fine Georgian Mahogany & Inlaid Moon dial Longcase Clock, dating to around 1830, and in full working order.

The case is in Mahogany with various line inlays to the case and hood, and is in good condition. The shaped case door with a figured Mahogany panel inside a crossbanded and moulded edge, with its working lock and key, and original brass hinges. The door has a line inlaid panel above and another panel below with a \"Greek Key\" or similar inlaid design, very unusual. The base with a mahogany, line inlaid panel and flanked by canted corners, and the clock stands on its original small feet at 89 inches in total height.

The hood with its swan neck pediment with a caddy top, the inlaid panel has the matchting greek key design, and sits beneath the elgant horns that are finished with its original turned wooden paterae to the horn tips. The glazed hood door with its brass handle and original wavy old glass, and the door is flanked by reeded and inlaid pillars. The clock retains its original backboard with repair.

The painted arched moon dial is in beautiful condition, the chapter ring having hours represented by Roman Numerals, with an outer minute ring. The centre of the dial with the working seconds dial above the calendar aperture and twin winding holes, with the makers signature below of \"N Dumvile, Stockport\". The top arch with the working revolving moon dial which has two moon faces, a seascape and a scene of seated lady with flowers, and the dial itself sits below the 29 1/2 day lunar calendar. The four corners have historical figures, well painted and again quite unusual to see this on a dial, I would imagine that this dial was specially commissioned for a particular clients order. Below the moon dial there are the two detailed hemispheres, and the dial is finished with its full set of Brass hands.

The 4 pillar rack and snail striking,8 day duration movement is in good original condition and in full working order, striking out the hours on a single bell. The clock is set up and keeping good time, as with all antique clocks it would benefit from a clean and service at some time in the future. Theclock comes complete with it\'s original old weights and pendulum, along with a winding key.

Faults; There are some minor chips and cracks as you would expect, the hour hand with repair.
