Outof Rochester, New York, U.S.A. comes this beautiful four-tone Kodak1A Gift antique folding camera. Camera comes with hard leathercarrying case with a roomy interior to fit all of your photoequipment accessories!

TheKodak 1A Gift folding camera was produced from 1930 to 1931, with alimited production run of just 10,000 cameras; far fewer of these“gifts” remain to this day, and even fewer are in good condition!

Thismodel features an excellent four-tone (red, tan, brown, silver) artdeco design on the front facade of the camera when it\'s closed, andagain on the facade of the shutter mechanism. It has a veryattractive, chic look that has stood the test of time.

Cosmeticson this Kodak 1A Gift are very good. While the camera shows someobvious wear from the years (PLEASE SEE PICTURES) on theleather covering and an abrasion on the front of the closed camera,the painted art deco design still looks great! Metal portions of thecamera also have some superficial areas of wear, but the silver metalsurfaces shine brightly in ambient light. The black leather bellowson the camera is in EXCELLENT condition—really very good shapewithout cracking or holes. This camera is still “light tight”!

Glasson the lens is CLEAN. Glass shows no fungus, haze, clouding, orscratches. There is an extremely small amount of very fine dustvisible in the glass (which isn\'t unusual at all for a camera of thisvintage), but it\'s quite minor and we think you\'ll agree, afterseeing this camera in person, that the glass is in excellentcondition for being 85 years old! If you\'re interested in shootingfilm with this camera, the glass should be good to go for producingclean, clear images. Viewfinder is pretty clean, though the mirror has a couple of smaller dark spots on it (please see picture #7), though this doesn\'t interfere much usage.

Functionon the camera is: excellent working order. Shutter mechanism firesjust as you\'d expect it to. Aperture selection wheel/disc turnssmoothly and isn\'t sticky or too loose: just right. Camera opens andcloses smoothly and, again, doesn\'t stick and isn\'t too loose. Thecamera locks tight in the closed position.

Insum, what you have here is a rare antique Kodak camera made in theU.S.A. (circa 1930) with GREAT style and really pretty nicecosmetics—especially for its vintage.
