There are normal nicks and scratches due to the age of the instrument and years of use. I took this violin to a professional luthier. He set it up with a new Despiau (France) bridge and Dominant strings and a new tailpiece. The back is two pieces and the front is one piece. The flaming on the back and sides is beautiful and the violin is a very attractive lightish walnut color.

The ribs of this particular violin are very unique. They are rounded out. I know little about the case and the bow. The case and bow (along with all the other \"accessories\") are the same ones that came with the violin when I got it.
