Offered is a very unique 14k yellow gold Antique Opal ring with an intricate threedimensionalframed bow design...a trulyexquisitepiece of history! The design frames a beautiful natural opal. It is hard to catch the colors on camera that are seen in person from this opal. In person the top outer edge has a beautiful green like fire to it that changes colors to blue and purple in some lights, this natural color runs through the top of the stone down towards the outer right hand side of the stone. Down the center you can see glimmers of red dotted lights throughout the translucent body of the gem, this stone is beautiful. This ring is hard to look away from, the design is a portable work of art. I am unsure of the age of this ring, could be Victorian? It is quite heavy weighing in at over 6 grams. The measurements: North / South 3/4 of an inch, West / East is 1/2 of an inch. The opal is 11x9 which is approximately 2 carats. Ring size is just a hair under 6 1/2, the ring was marked 14k a long time ago however the 4 is the only number still visible on the inside of the band.
