Original signed oil painting by Richard Peterson. Gallery framed in a Louis XIV style wood in a distressed brushed gold. Painting dimensions are approx. 9 by 12 inches. The frame is 14 x 19 x 2.5 inches. Both the painting and frame are in beautiful excellent vintage condition! Purchased direct from gallery in Newport Beach and we have been the original owners. Receipt/Appraisal will be included as well. Painting retailed at $2500 and will only increase in value. This is part of a collection I am selling. A beautiful addition to any Art collection...

Richard Peterson, a Californian artist born in 1947, is considered a modern master of old world Dutch and Flemish styles

A highly regarded artist, Peterson was exhibited twice at the Salon des Peinteurs Francais Grand Palais in Paris, where he was also one of four American artists chosen for an international exhibit at the legendary Café de la Paix. In 1975, Peterson was part of a two-man exhibition with Norman Rockwell at the Haggenmaker Gallery in Beverly Hills.

He ceased painting in 1999 due to the illness,and eventually loss of his wife, instead working on the restoration of the original 17th Century Old Masters themselves.

A very interesting insight into how detailed he was and how far he went to get the authentic detail...including reproducing the type of paint used in the 17th Century on to quartersawn wood panel.
